I'm a reading activist

Today was the first day of the Summer Reading Challenge which takes place every year during the summer holidays for children aged four to eleven. This involves signing up at your local library and choosing 6 books to read (fact or fiction) Along the way you can collect stickers, prizes and you will be awarded with a certificate at the end. This year I have volunteered at my local library. We had a great turn out of children sign up for the challenge on the first day. Most of the girls loved Jacqueline Wilson and the boys mostly like Beast quest and football fact books. The Summer Reading Challenge website helps you keep track of your reading, find new books and take part in competitions and play games. http://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/
