Roll on June

It's been a busy couple of weeks with more stresses and strains in the work place leaving me little time to write/comment/post.  I hate that.  My manager who replaced the manager who is on sabbatical has now left and I am alone again and trying not to break.  Sabbatical boss will be back in 4 weeks which will leave me feeling a lot less agitated and much more focused on writing when I get in from work.

In my bid to destress/lose my writers body/train for race4life/heal my back I have joined the gym (yes you really did just read that!).  I am loving it and I am feeling a lot more energised when I get home and sleeping very well.  I have lost a couple kgs already, clothes are yet to fit properly though - that maybe a good excuse to go shopping!  I went to my first physio session in months at the weekend (insurance co. have agreed to 3 more - I am seriously sick of them now) and I have been given plank work to do and as a result I feel like I have been kicked in the ribs.  Still, only 2 more sessions left and the whole car accident nightmare should be over.  The training for Race4Life is going well and we are only £5 off target so I am very pleased about that.  I am feeling good things for June - no work stress, some time off, no more physio, my clothes may hit and hey - I might even get around to starting my writing course!!

  1. I too feel loads better about everything when I'm exercising regularly. Which is most of the time, unless I'm ill or injured. Glad June's looking positive, best of luck with the course.

  2. It's funny how when one thing improves in our lives, others tend to follow. Glad to see that things are looking up and the day job will be able to take it rightful place again...in 3rd/4th/5th place : )

  3. Good luck with the Race4Life. I did it a couple of weeks ago and had a great morning out with the girls. Only, unlike you, I did no training for it - we just walked! Caroline x

  4. Good luck for the Race for Life. I'll be doing one in July - not running it or walking it but manning the donation station. I'll be the one sitting under the dodgy gazabo on a pile of plastic bags. I love it, we have a whale of a time. Can't wait.
Glad to hear that the excercise is working.

  5. Well done for being so disciplined. I'm doing Race for Life and have to admit that I haven't trained at all. So it'll serve me right when I'm all red-faced and exhausted a week on Sunday.

  6. Queenie - Thank you, I just hope I can fit everything in. I just need to get myself a lot more organised and stick to my time tables! If only I could balance my net book on that treadmill!

David - lol yes! This day job has been a big fat pain in my butt this last 6 months and I just have a good feeling that next month things will get easier so I can work harder elsewhere (if that makes sense)

Caroline - Thank you and well done for doing R4L. I loved doing it last year as there are people from all walks of life taking part and the crowds are amazing. The beauty is that its all about the fun (and the charity of course).

Colette - Thank you. That reminds me I need to get my donations together. Not sure If my bag arrived with my pack which I really need to find! I'm looking forward to it and so glad that we have the 11am slot this year as opposed to the 2pm one last year

Debs - To be fair I trained a lot harder last year and I still ended up walking for parts of it because it was just soooo hot. I think because of my back I won't be completing in the time I managed last year, but I shall enjoy walking/jogging the course with my mum this year

  8. I too have started going to the gym - I don't know why we resist for so long because it feels so much better (in every area of my life) to be going regularly.

Good luck with your Race for Life.

  12. If you didn't get your bag in your pack (quite often the case) any bag will do. Good luck

  17. Carol - Thanks for the kind words. I went to aquafit tonight and we had a different teacher who was a slave driver. I am proper pooped!

Leigh - thank you and thanks for visiting. It's raining outside as we speak so I'm having to keep reminding myself of the fact that it is summer. Still theres a bright light at the end of my work tunnel and I'm feeling happier by the day :)
