You are now leaving lazyville, don't come back now!
No writing done so far this week. I am slipping big time with the word count as even though I have been doing the 100 words a day I haven’t stuck to my 354 words a day target if I’m to get the first draft finished before my holiday/brothers wedding in August. I need to get my backside into gear if I’m going to get CIM finished. I wouldn’t mind but I haven’t even been busy this week! The lull started because I took Saturday off to go to a MAC technique class to learn how to put my slap on properly. I had a good day and although this has nothing to do with writing I figure that whatever I do is research for that next story or character. Saturday night we had a BBQ just to make the most of the weather and because big bro came to visit from Cornwall for his Christmas dinner. We haven’t seen him since last year so we all got presents, so exciting!!
So in light of my frequenting lazyville yet again I am vowing to blog more, write more and be online a little bit more. I’m being very unsociable lately. I come home from work and I can’t bear the thought of turning the computer on. Normally I can’t wait to log in. So I’m turning on, logging in and not tuning out.

Weekend in Jersey

We finished the day off by heading up to Gorey Castle, which is fascinating. We dressed up in pirate costumes, walked past the wheel of urine and came across a 3D picture of the Queen. It was so life like.
Saturday was spent watching Ireland win the Rugby and getting very drunk while Sunday we strolled along the beach and then onto the pier at St Catherines where we managed to spot some Dolphins.

Unfortunately Monday was spent making the journey home. Monday was spent unpacking and packing (the house move isnt happening yet but we will be ready when it does) and Tuesday was spent round boyf's for St Patricks Day treats (my first time trying bacon and cabbage) sadly I had to stick to the juice as I was driving. Still there is always the weekend.

Leeds Castle
On Saturday me and boyf took a trip to Kent to see Leeds Castle which has been home to the likes of Henry the Eighth and his wives. We were lucky with the traffic and the weather so the trip only took about an hour.

The views on the walk to the castle were beautiful. Shame about my dodgy camera phone!

Once inside the Castle we got to see the bathroom and sleeping quarters of the Hon. Lady Baillie, Catherine of Aragon and below the Queen's bedroom.

Outside the Castle you are given the opportunity to find you way through a maze. I got quite annoyed by this after about 20 mins. I have no sense of direction at the best of times! Once (and if) you find your way out you can visit the grotto, there was no Santa in this one but a scary face on the wall.

Luckily the weather stayed nice yesterday as well as me and lil sis did a car boot sale. We got rid of a lot of stuff we can't take in the move and made a tidy profit from it too. We have a lot of stuff left over so we shall prepare for another one soon.
With all that going on I did no writing and will not get a chance this weekend either as I am visiting relatives in Jersey. I shall have to make up for in the week to lower that daily word count. I haven't put my last writing attempts on ywriter yet so I dread to think what it's at now.

Slumdog Millionaire

I was engrossed in the story of how Dev Patel's character Jamal, a contestant on India's 'Who wants to be a Millionaire' explains how, after being arrested on suspicion of cheating on the show, he came to know the answers most people wouldn't. With each question comes a torturous memory and how the experiences of his childhood with his brother in the slums of Mumbai leads him to be one question away from the jackpot. While he explains how he came to be able to answer such impossible questions he tells of Latika, the girl he loved and had let go.
This is essentially to do with winning love over money and takes you through what people are prepared to do to get these things.
The youngest actors in the film are amazing to me and could out act plenty gracing the red carpets of Hollywood these days. There was nothing about this film I didn't like. The sound track, the story, the actors, the setting - all perfect. It wasn't made on a ridiculous budget which kept the story realistic. It was thought provoking while entertaining all the same. It most definitely gets 10 out of 10 from me.
